Project Estimator (Part Time)

Orbital is currently seeking a Project EstimatorOrbital is seeking a Project Estimator with 10+ years of experience to support projects within our Heavy Industrial vertical. The position requires project estimating experience in a consulting environment, and well-rounded expertise in heavy industrial retrofit engineering projects in the petrochemical, oil & gas and industrial gas industries. This is a part-time, fully remote opportunity.The ideal candidate will be a high performing, critically thinking, analytical, and experienced self-starter with excellent leadership skills, written and oral communication skills, customer service skills, and the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. PrimaryResponsibilities:• Interface with engineering, designers and Project Management to understand scopes of work• Perform takeoffs from engineering sketches or design drawings• Prepare total installed bolthires (TIC) estimates in support of FEL projects• Prepare basis of estimate documentation to include with TIC estimate and FEL turnover package• Participate in estimate review meetings with clients to discuss assumptions and estimate build bolthires• Mentor other estimators in the organization in the execution of TIC estimatesQualifications• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.• A minimum of 10 years estimating experience in the heavy industrial environments and marketplaces served is required. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and material take offs. • Working knowledge and expertise in Aspen Capital bolthires Estimator (ACCE). • Superior communication and interpersonal skills with clients and engineering personnel are essential. • Project management experience including an understanding/use of project management and project control principles/tools is preferred.Orbital has provided worldwide professional engineering and consulting services since 1969.
