As a vital member of our customer service team, you will have the rewarding opportunity to guide our client plan participants through the enrollment process and assist them in making updates to their health care and/or pension plans. You will be empowered to take the time necessary to provide the highest level of service on each contact, ensuring that our clients receive personalized support and attention to their needs. Key Responsibilities Build rapport and respond to plan participants in a compassionate and respectful manner, consistently meeting commitments via phone, email, and instant message. Customize your customer service approach to meet diverse communication styles and personalities while maintaining professionalism and diplomacy during challenging interactions. Safeguard confidential information (e.g., medical, health, financial, personal, etc.) with sensitivity and discretion in accordance with HIPAA and Data Privacy laws and company data security requirements. Translate complex health and welfare and pension terms, plan information, and processes into simple explanations and instructions that customers can understand and act upon. Read and understand client plan documents and online knowledge base tools while collecting relevant information to determine immediate requests/questions and anticipate future needs of the member. Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and compliance with company and client procedures and guidelines, providing accurate and appropriate information. Maintain and document complete and accurate call and case notes in a professional manner. Communicate and collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and other staff in a respectful and cooperative manner. Regularly participate in team meetings and training to enhance your skills and knowledge. Spend the majority of your time assisting customers and providing exceptional support. Perform other duties as assigned to contribute to the team's success. Qualifications and Requirements To excel in this role, you should possess: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to express yourself clearly and grammatically correctly in a customer service setting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to quickly assess member concerns and formulate effective responses and resolutions. Ability to work in a structured environment, adhering to posted work schedules and breaks/lunches, following protocols, and upholding standards of excellence. High attention to detail, multi-tasking, and organizational skills to manage your workload efficiently. Experience using Microsoft Office, with a strong ability to juggle multiple open computer windows while answering questions on the phone or via instant messaging. Ability to work autonomously in a self-paced, self-motivated team environment and be comfortable working in a virtual setting, including online training and interaction with managers/supervisors via chat. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, with a typing speed of at least 30 words per minute. Experience working in a customer service-related field, with a high school degree required. Preferred Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree, which can be an asset in this role. Working knowledge of health and welfare and/or defined benefit pension plans, which can enhance your understanding of our clients' needs. Experience working in a call center environment, which can help you navigate our fast-paced and dynamic setting.
