Military OneSource Counselor - Remote
About the positionResponsibilities• Provide appropriate type of service based on member's presentation, clinical history and needs and accurately differentiate between NMC and Military medical services• Formulate accurate description of member's clinical presentation in their individual clinical records and maintaining appropriate records, case notes, forms and reports as well as database entries• Maintain appropriate confidentiality according to DoD standards• Manage duty to warn and restricted reporting situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocol• Participate in staff meetings, case consultations, and training opportunitiesRequirements• Master's Degree in psychology, social work, marriage/family therapy or counseling or related mental health field• Current, valid, unrestricted counseling license/certification in California, which grants the authority to provide counseling services as an independent practitioner in their respective fields, such as LP, MFT, LCSW, LPCC• 2+ years of experience, post-licensure, that demonstrates acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy, or counseling major• Experience using various computer applications and move through computer screens while talking with members• Demonstrated ability to build rapport, assess and address risk, and develop goals with service members and their families in a telephonic, video or digital modality• Demonstrated ability to work with a culturally and geographically diverse population• Demonstrated ability to address a variety of problems and issues as presented by callers• Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and creatively with other professional team members• Proven solid written, verbal and interpersonal skills• U.S.citizen and speak fluent English• Access to high-speed internet from home• Dedicated, distraction-free space in home for home officeNice-to-haves• Experience working with and/or for military communities• Employee assistance program (EAP) experience• Veteran/military retiree, wounded warrior, and/or military spouse• Bilingual Spanish/English• 1+ year of experience performing Risk Assessments with Adults in crisis• 1+ year of experience performing short term / solution focused therapy with adultsBenefits• Comprehensive benefits package• Incentive and recognition programs• Equity stock purchase• 401k contribution Apply tot his job
