Position: Faith Formation Assistant – OCIA Status: Part-Time, Occasional Date: September 24, 2025 Reports to: Director of Music Location: St Ann Catholic Church 100 SW Alsbury Blvd Burleson, Texas 796028 www.fwdioc.org General Position Summary: Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the process by which non-Catholics and adult Catholics receive the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation). It is the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith as a member of the Mystical Body of Christ. The OCIA assistant will work in tandem with the Director of Faith Formation in preparing the candidates for OCIA. Principal Accountabilities: • Assist Director of Faith Formation in planning, preparing, coordinating all areas of the OCIA program • Coordinates catechists, aides and other volunteers for the OCIA journey • Help and participate in catechist formation programs • Maintain records for individuals in the OCIA program • Maintain resources for OCIA including ensuring facilities are reserved, prepared and opened, program materials are available and ready, audio/visual equipment is available and functioning for all programs Supervision Given and/or Received: • Supervised by the Director of Faith Formation Internal Contacts: • Pastor • Director of Faith Formation • Business Manager • Other Parish Staff External Contacts: • Diocesan Staff • Parish Volunteers • Leaders/staff of the other Parish Offices Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements: • Ability to accept work interruptions while still remaining focused on duties • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance and up to 60 pounds with assistance • Able to sit and perform computer work for lengthy periods of time. Frequent use of a computer keyboard that requires repetitive hand and wrist movements • Frequent walking and standing • Regularly able to work evenings and weekends, especially throughout the school year • Able to maintain confidentiality of personal data received and related to contacts in this position Travel Requirements: • Limited travel may be required within the greater DFW area Education and Experience Preferred: • Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing • High School Diploma or Equivalent required • Evangelization and Catechesis training preferred • Religious education experience in a Catholic parish a plus • Ability to work with adults and children of all ages and backgrounds required • Successful completion of the Diocesan Safe Environment process required Knowledge and Skills Preferred: • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Canva required • Organizational skills including time management, planning and resource management required FLSA Designation: Non Exempt, Part-Time, 21 hours per week Apply tot his job
