Job Overview The Data Entry Representative will play a critical role in supporting our Revenue Cycle Management operations through Billing Data Entry, Billing Data Acquisition, and/or Third-Party Denials processes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient transfer of data from imaged accessions into mainframe applications, as well as researching and resolving billing errors and denials. Primary Responsibilities Transfer data from imaged accessions into mainframe applications with high accuracy and efficiency. Perform data entry of billing mnemonics and all required billing information that appears on imaged requisitions, including US postal address, medical codes, insurance carrier details, and other relevant information. Ensure that all needed “edits” are met and missing information is updated for billing, and research and resolve billing errors with additional information received from clients or patients. Review bills denied by payers/insurance due to eligibility criteria, and research and update bills to resolve denials for re-billing. Navigate multiple computer applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, online applications, mainframe applications, and other systems as required. Conduct basic research in computer applications to perform data entry, including address, billing codes, reject codes, and other relevant information. Follow additional procedural guidelines to enter information into the systems, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of technical, communication, and customer service skills. The following qualifications and requirements are essential: Required Qualifications At least 1 year of data entry experience, with a strong track record of accuracy and efficiency. Customer service experience, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Professional proficiency in both English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, patients, and colleagues. Proficiency with computers, Windows PC, and web applications, including the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications. Ability to work 40 hours/week during standard business operating hours, Monday - Friday from 7:00am - 4:30pm, with occasional overtime on weekends and holidays as required. Preferred Qualifications Medical billing experience, with a strong understanding of medical or health insurance terminology. Proven solid Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret data. Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
