Job OverviewThe Customer Accounts Representative I position is a vital role within our organization, responsible for managing customer accounts, preparing billing reports, and providing exceptional customer service.Under moderate supervision from the Customer Accounts Supervisor, the successful candidate will operate data entry terminals and software reports to prepare water, electric, gas, sewer, and refuse billing, as well as CNS services. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Operate data entry terminals and software reports to prepare billing reports for various utility services, including water, electric, gas, sewer, and refuse Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, ensuring all information is correct and complete Check and investigate accounts for errors prior to billing, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail Verify, sort, and distribute final bills on a weekly basis, following a monthly rotating schedule Handle various work orders related to assigned cycles, keeping accounts updated and ensuring seamless service delivery Send out service orders for verification prior to billing cycles, ensuring accuracy and efficiency Receive and resolve billing complaints from utility customers, preparing complaint listings for meter verification as needed Add new service customers and close out old customers, maintaining accurate records and ensuring smooth transitions Maintain monthly checks and balances with customers on budget billing and special contracts, ensuring accuracy and fairness Assist with dispatching work orders to service technicians and answering inspection calls, providing excellent customer service and support Communicate with various departments regarding customer accounts questions or concerns, ensuring effective collaboration and issue resolution Complete monthly rotated assigned tasks to update special billing reports, such as General Ledger and Adjustments, ensuring accuracy and compliance Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess: High school diploma or equivalent required;
