Job Overview As a Ramp Agent at blithequark, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient handling of baggage, mail, and cargo to and from our aircraft. You will be responsible for operating ground equipment, guiding aircraft to and from gate positions, and providing exceptional customer service to our passengers. Key Responsibilities Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures Operate ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in areas of congestion, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of aircraft and equipment Be responsible for on-time connections by guiding incoming and departing aircraft from gate positions, working closely with our flight operations team to minimize delays Provide exceptional customer service to passengers, responding to their needs and resolving any issues that may arise during the travel process Work collaboratively with other teams, including flight operations, customer service, and maintenance, to ensure the smooth operation of our airport services Comply with all safety regulations, policies, and procedures, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for yourself and your colleagues Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred 1-2 years of experience in a related field, such as aviation, customer service, or logistics Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment Valid driver's license and ability to operate ground equipment Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with passengers, colleagues, and other stakeholders Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working in an airport environment, with knowledge of airline operations and safety procedures Familiarity with ground equipment, such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors Basic knowledge of aircraft handling and safety procedures Experience working in a customer-facing role, with a strong focus on providing exceptional service Ability to speak multiple languages, with a focus on languages commonly spoken by our passengers Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and competencies: Safety awareness : ability to identify and mitigate safety risks, with a strong focus on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment Customer service skills : ability to provide exceptional service to passengers, responding to their needs and resolving any issues that may arise Communication skills : ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, passengers, and other stakeholders, both verbally and in writing Teamwork and collaboration : ability to work collaboratively with other teams, including flight operations, customer service, and maintenance Problem-solving and adaptability : ability to think critically and adapt to changing circumstances, with a focus on minimizing delays and ensuring the smooth operation of our airport services Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we're committed to the growth and development of our employees.
