What To Expect The Spares Technician plays a critical role in managing spare parts inventory to support the seamless operation and maintenance of plant equipment and machinery at Tesla. This position focuses on ensuring the availability of essential components to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency. Responsibilities include receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking spare parts while maintaining precise inventory records. The Spares Technician collaborates with maintenance, production, and procurement teams to optimize inventory processes and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. What You'll Do Receive, inspect, and verify incoming spare parts against purchase orders and ensure proper storage in designated locations Issue spare parts to maintenance and production teams with accurate documentation and part identification Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to reconcile stock levels and report discrepancies or damaged items Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools Assist in identifying reorder points and generating purchase requisitions for critical or low-stock spares Ensure a clean, organized, and safe storage area while adhering to safety regulations and operating material handling equipment as needed Collaborate with maintenance technicians, engineers, and procurement teams to support continuous improvement in spares management What You'll Bring Minimum of 2 years of experience in spare parts inventory, warehouse, or logistics roles within a manufacturing or industrial setting Proficiency with CMMS or ERP systems such as SAP, Maximo, or Oracle for inventory management Strong computer skills for documentation and record-keeping tasks Familiarity with material handling equipment and safety protocols Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams in a dynamic environment Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory tracking and reporting Command of the English language both written and verbal Essential Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. regularly Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods Comfortable working in a warehouse or industrial environment, which may include varying temperatures and noise levels Operation of material handling equipment Benefits Compensation and Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Aetna PPO and HSA plans > 2 medical plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Account) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High Deductible Aetna medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program
