Position SummaryThe Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Coding Specialist is responsible for performing prospective and retrospective chart reviews for Asante Physician Partners (APP) and Asante Health Network (AHN) providers.This includes review of the quality of medical record and billing documentation relating to inpatient and outpatient professional fee charges, E/M charging, and CPT procedure coding. Based upon findings, the CDI Coding Specialist collaborates with the CDI RN specialist to ensure accurate diagnosis and procedural coding submitted to payers. Additional duties include serving as a resource to all personnel involved in any aspect of coding to obtain information or clarification on accurate and ethical coding documentation standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.QualificationsEducation• Associates degree or equivalent education and experience may be considered• One of the following certifications or eligibility to obtain certification within 90 days of hire/transfer:• CCS: Certified Coding Specialist• CCS-P: Certified Coding Specialist, Physician-based• CPC: CertifiedProfessional Coder• CCR: Certified Risk Adjustment CoderExperience• Minimum 3 years of coding experience or clinical experience in a healthcare setting that provided exposure to CPT/HCPCS coding, ICD-10 diagnosis coding, and other coding related regulatory standards requirements is required• Must be highly competent in bolthires Office products, including Word, Excel and OutlookPreferred Licensure/Certifications• CCDS: Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist• CCDS-O: Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist-Outpatient• Clinical Licensure or Certification (i.e.CMA, CNA, LPN, PTA, EMT/paramedic)What We Offer• Competitive starting wage• Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and wellness• Excellent retirement package with up to 6% employer contribution• Generous Earned Time Off• Tuition reimbursement after one year of serviceWhy AsanteAsante is more than a great hospital system in an amazing location.
