Reporting directly to the Controller, you will own the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of clients located primarily in Easley, South Carolina while collaborating with cross‑functional teams across the United States. Your work will ensure that our books are accurate, regulatory compliance is maintained, and strategic financial insights are delivered on time.By safeguarding the integrity of our financial data, you will enable senior leadership to make data‑driven decisions that fuel growth and expand our market share in Easley, South Carolina and beyond. Key Responsibilities- Month‑end & year‑end close – Execute a 5‑day close process for our primary entity, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and delivering accurate financial statements to the CFO. - General ledger management – Maintain the GL in QuickBooks Online and Xero, ensuring proper coding of all transactions and adherence to GAAP.- Accounts payable & receivable – Process approximately 250 invoices per month, manage vendor relationships, and oversee cash application using SAP Business One. - Bank & credit‑card reconciliations – Perform daily reconciliations for up to 15 accounts, flagging exceptions and coordinating with Treasury. - Financial reporting – Generate monthly, quarterly, and ad‑hoc reports in bolthires Excel, bolthires Data Studio, and Tableau for internal stakeholders and external auditors. - Tax compliance – Prepare and file state and federal tax returns for the entity, working with an external CPA firm to meet all filing deadlines.- Process improvement – Lead at least two automation projects per year using Zapier and Power Automate to reduce manual entry time by 20%. - Audit support – Assemble audit schedules, respond to auditor inquiries, and provide documentation for a clean audit opinion. - Cross‑team collaboration – Partner with Product, Sales, and Marketing via Slack and Zoom to forecast revenue, analyze pricing models, and support budgeting cycles. - Internal controls – Conduct quarterly control testing, document findings, and recommend remediation actions.Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent professional experience. - 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a remote or distributed environment. -Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or CGMA is required. - Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Xero, and SAP Business One (minimum 2 years each). -Advanced skills in bolthires Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Power Query) and experience building dashboards in Tableau or bolthires Data Studio.- Strong knowledge of GAAP, ASC 740 (tax), and ASC 606 (revenue recognition). - Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and maintain 99% accuracy in financial reporting. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of collaborating across time zones (e.g., PST‑EST). Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Oracle NetSuite or bolthires Dynamics 365 as a secondary ERP system. - Prior exposure to SaaS revenue models and subscription billing platforms (e.g., Chargebee, Recurly).- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring junior accountants or bookkeepers. - Familiarity with Power BI for advanced data visualization. - Experience supporting a Series B or later‑stage startup, especially in the Easley, South Carolina tech ecosystem. - 85% of meetings conducted asynchronously, with a comfort level using Asana or Jira for task tracking.
