RCM | Coder| Remote

Coder is responsible for auditing practice and ambulatory surgery center (ASC) medical and billing records to ensure coding and operations compliance. Responsibilities include:• Keep abreast of all government, commercial payer, and corporate coding policy additions, deletions, and changes. • Review for accuracy in coding for services performed at facilities. • Review for coding compliance with the ICD-10-CM and HCPCS/CPT coding guidelines. • Review for coding compliance with CMS rules and regulations.• Review for operational compliance to include verification of accurate posting of charges and timeliness of charge posting. • Enter completed findings into database. • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested. Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent required. • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a healthcare or medical billing office required demonstrating:• Understanding of medical terminology. • Experience verifying insurance with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payors.• Experience in obtaining pre-authorizations and/or referrals from insurance carriers. • Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
