Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Ramp Agent at blithequark, your daily tasks will include:* Safely lifting, loading, unloading, and transporting baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft, while ensuring timely connections by guiding incoming and departing aircraft from the gate positions.* Safeguarding cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and weather. * Safely driving and operating ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in areas of congestion. * Operating baggage scanners and computers to ensure baggage is routed accurately to the customer's destination. Work Environment and ScheduleAs a Ramp Agent, you will work in a fast-paced environment with varying shifts, including early morning, evening, and overnight shifts. You will also work between 20 and 40 hours per week based on your seniority.Each station is different based on its individual flight schedule, so you will need to be flexible and adaptable. Physical DemandsThe work tasks as a Ramp Agent are physical and include bending, lifting, standing, and walking. You will be required to lift and move bags weighing up to 50-70 pounds, and work in harsh weather conditions such as heat, rain, and snow. You will also need to wear required company-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure your safety. What You Need to SucceedTo be successful as a Ramp Agent at blithequark, you will need to:* Consistently prioritize safety and security of self, others, and personal data.* Embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles. * Possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. * Be at least 18 years of age and have authorization to work in the United States. * Have a valid driver's license. * Proficiency in English. * Pass a physical ability test (PAT). * Wear required company-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include, but not limited to: hearing protection, safety-toe footwear, protective headwear (bump cap or hard hat), and high visibility safety apparel subject to an approved accommodation, such as alternate PPE.* Ability to hold airport-specific requirements such as a SIDA Badge and Customs Seal.
