We are now seeking an experienced Part TimeRemote Customer Service Specialist to and contribute to our mission of providing exceptional patient care.Job OverviewThe Part TimeRemote Customer Service Specialist will serve as the initial point of contact and liaison between patients, healthcare facilities, physicians, clinical staff, and practices to facilitate patient healthcare needs. This role will utilize an electronic health record to validate and capture clinical and financial information, contributing to the coordination of patient care. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for answering a high volume of inbound calls, navigating electronic health records, and providing excellent customer service to patients, providers, and external organizations.Key Responsibilities Navigate the electronic health record to obtain and validate historical information, capture and document demographic and financial information, and maintain accountability for accurate data entry while ensuring patient privacy and security as outlined by HIPAA. Manage a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, ensuring resolution to the call and providing excellent customer service in a variety of situations. Leverage critical thinking with speed and accuracy to identify the reason for the call and take appropriate action based on caller need and acuity, researching complex issues in the electronic health record and consulting/escalating to clinical staff when necessary.Schedule patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verify and update insurance, and collect and document demographics, maintaining proficiency in and sharing knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions.
