Job Overview and Responsibilities As a Medical Equipment Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive the best possible care and support. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service, communicate effectively with patients, referral sources, and healthcare professionals, and perform administrative tasks related to the intake of patient information, service of durable medical equipment, and respiratory products and supplies. Your key responsibilities will include: Assisting with updating respiratory grid and maintaining accurate records Communicating with patients, referral sources, and healthcare professionals to ensure timely resolution of patient questions and concerns Completing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Certificates of Medical Necessity (CMNs), and documenting on tracking logs Coordinating patient information, processing paperwork, and preparing files for the Billing Department Maintaining referral logs, monitoring office supplies, and preparing deposits and invoices Providing technical assistance to customers, verifying insurance coverage, and working with outside agencies to resolve customer issues Performing other duties as assigned, including covering on-call shifts, driving a company vehicle, and making deliveries to patients' homes Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you must: Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent Pass a background investigation and drug screen (if applicable) Have a valid driver's license in your state of residence with a clean driving record (if applicable) Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience with medical equipment, medical billing practices, and billing reimbursement Experience in the medical field and administrative record management One year of related work experience Knowledge of medical terminology Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you must possess: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to accurately perform simple mathematical calculations Effective problem-solving and multi-tasking skills Ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion, and caution when handling sensitive information Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Machines, Equipment, and Technical Abilities You must be proficient in: Email transmission and communication Internet navigation and research Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel Office equipment, including fax machines, copiers, printers, phones, and computers/tablets Physical Demands This role requires: Lifting and carrying office equipment (up to 35 pounds) Transporting patient equipment Sitting, walking, standing, talking, and listening for extended periods Close vision to small print on computers/tablets and paperwork Potential exposure to contagious pathogens Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
