About the Role As a Business Development Officer at Wells Fargo, you will be responsible for identifying, acquiring, and developing new business relationships with small business clients. You will work closely with Regional Business Relationship Managers to discuss business products and services, and develop strategies to expand our presence in the market. Your primary focus will be on driving new business opportunities, building strong relationships with clients, and delivering exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities Identify, acquire, and develop new business relationships with small business clients Collaborate with Regional Business Relationship Managers to discuss business products and services with clients Develop strategies to expand Wells Fargo's presence in the market and drive new business opportunities Assist with processes including client identification, acquisition, and onboarding Work with Regional Business Relationship Managers and other partners to ensure a smooth client transition Identify additional product opportunities by building relationships with regional directors and product partners Lead or participate in moderately complex projects and initiatives within the Small Business Development functional area Analyze and resolve moderately complex business, operational, or technical issues Collaborate with Small Business Development peers, partners, and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals Lead Small Business Development projects and teams, or act as a guide for less experienced team members Essential Qualifications 2+ years of Small Business Development experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education Bachelor's degree in a relevant field Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Experience building and maintaining relationships with prospects, referral sources, and partners Established network in the local market 2+ years of direct sourcing and prospecting new clients experience 2+ years of business credit experience 2+ years of new business development experience 2+ years of business-to-business sales experience Preferred Qualifications Experience prospecting, selling products and services, and referring clients Knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry Experience building relationships and consulting effectively with leadership Knowledge and understanding of outside sales in a consultative Business-to-Business environment Experience building relationships with referral partners and community associations within diverse communities Excellent customer service skills What We Offer At Wells Fargo, we offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for career growth and development.
