Senior Commercial Building Materials Estimator -- Remote USA

Structural Component Systems, Inc. of Fremont, NE is actively seeking a full-time Senior Estimator to estimate loose material/wholesale material orders on various projects, but primarily complex, commercial/multi-family projects. This exempt-level position works in our Omaha, Nebraska or Grimes, Iowa office or Remote with typical hours Monday - Friday, 45 average hours/week. Candidates with knowledge of the construction industry and past loose material estimating or similar experience is required. Please note: At least 8 years of wood construction loose materials estimating experience required. Commercial siding experience required. Planswift or similar software experience required. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LOOSE MATERIALS ESTIMATOR This role is critical to navigating successful projects in Structural Component Systems, Inc.'s large project format. This person will be responsible for full-project estimating on loose material orders on any project over $100,000.00 in sales. Accuracy and speed in creating complete estimates is critical to ensure customer satisfaction and project profitability. Requirements: • Minimum of 5-8 years building material estimating experience required. • Minimum 1 year commercial siding experience required. • Experience preparing bids & reference information utilizing Planswift, Timberline, MiTek, and other design related software. • Knowledge of Bistrack preferred but not required. • Must be able to learn new computer programs quickly and type at a fast speed, at least 50 WPM. Job Duties: • Optimize designs for accurate costing. • Review takeoffs and calculations for accuracy. • Assist sales with clear information presentation • Broad knowledge of roof and floor system building materials and willingness to learn new products. • Communicate effectively (English required) with all organizational levels and customer representatives. • Provide problem solving solutions using Building Codes and product information. • Prepare detailed construction proposals from customer blueprints for customer presentation. • Assist in training and development of other estimators as required. • Minimum high school graduate. Preferred bachelor degree in related discipline or equivalent. • Perform other duties as required. Skills / Ability: • Ability to read and understand blue prints. • Strong math skills. • Ability to use a computer terminal, and proficiency of the use of MiTek and other business / design related software. • Ability to successfully interact with all organizational levels and the public. • Ability to communicate effectively with others, including customers, peers and management. • Ability to manage several activities/projects at once, to organize and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines. • Ability to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time, to be mobile in the work environment, and work hours mandated by management. • Self-managing, works well under little supervision. • Highly motivated and enthusiastic. • Good interpersonal skills and good communicator. • Team player, support the company's goals and objectives, in a professional manner.
