About the Role As an Overnight Store Night Team Member, you'll play a vital role in creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and driving sales and profit goals. You'll be an integral part of our store team, working collaboratively with department managers and other associates to achieve our company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. Key Responsibilities Create an exceptional customer experience by providing outstanding service and ensuring a welcoming store environment. Maintain a safe and clean store environment, adhering to quality assurance standards and safety procedures. Assist department managers in achieving sales and profit goals, monitoring inventory, and reporting discrepancies. Embody the Customer 1st strategy, promoting excellent customer service and encouraging associates to do the same. Demonstrate Kroger's core values, fostering a culture of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. Perform various tasks, including stocking, inventory management, and responding to customer inquiries. Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and make recommendations to customers. Stay current with promotions, sales, and seasonal offerings, ensuring customers are informed and engaged. Report safety risks, accidents, and other incidents to management, promoting a safe and secure work environment. Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines, maintaining proper temperatures and logs. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with customers and colleagues. Basic math skills, including counting, addition, and subtraction. The ability to handle stressful situations and maintain a positive attitude. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following skills and experience will be considered a plus: Retail experience, particularly in a grocery or customer-facing environment. Proficiency in a second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing). Previous experience in a night stocking or overnight retail role.
