Medication Prior Authorization Specialist / Biller

Position Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medication Prior Authorization Specialist / Biller to support our outpatient psychiatric practice. This dual role involves coordinating medication pre-authorizations, and supporting billing and administrative tasks. Ideal for someone experienced in behavioral health settings who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. Key Responsibilities:Medication Prior Authorizations: Coordinate prior authorization requests for psychiatric medications with insurancecompanies. Follow up with insurance providers to track status and obtain approvals.  Collaborate with prescribers and pharmacies to ensure timely medication access.  Maintain accurate records of all authorization processes and outcomes. Billing Assistance: Help resolve billing issues and enter charges to patient accounts as needed.  Provide support with patient billing questions and statements. Administrative Support: Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA regulations at all times.  Support the billing department and clinicians with ad-hoc tasks as assigned.Qualifications:Experience: Minimum 1-2 years in medical billing, prior authorizations, or related roles(psychiatry or behavioral health preferred).  Knowledge: Familiarity with insurance processes, psychiatric medications, andelectronic medical records (EMRs).  Skills: Excellent communication, attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability towork independently.  Tech: Experience with EMR systems (e.g., Office Ally, Dr Chrono, etc.), bolthiresOffice or GSuite. Preferred: Knowledge of mental health medications and terminology. Experience working in a remote or hybrid setting.
