As a Data Entry Associate with blithequark, you will play a critical role in gathering, preparing, and entering alphabetic and numeric data from various source documents into our computer system for storage, processing, and data management purposes.This is a full-time remote position, offering the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home, with a standard work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm PST, and the potential for overtime as needed. Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, including but not limited to: Gathering, organizing, and preparing source documents for data entry into the appropriate system database, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.Reviewing data for discrepancies, missing pages, or information, and resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team leader for resolution. Entering both alphabetic and numeric data from source documents into the proper system database with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Reviewing data entered against the original source documents for accuracy and correcting any data entry errors or duplications to maintain the integrity of our database.Following data program security practices and procedures at all times to ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive information. Routinely securing information by completing database backups daily to prevent data loss. Performing other varied clerical duties such as sorting, filing, emailing, and proofreading as required to support the team. Maintaining confidentiality of all personal and financial information at all times and in accordance with HIPAA regulations, demonstrating a commitment to ethical data handling practices.Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent, providing a foundation in basic skills and knowledge. The ability to achieve 8,000 or higher on a 10-key test, preferably above 10,000, demonstrating proficiency in data entry. A minimum of 6 months of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience, showing familiarity with data entry processes and medical records.Experience in a medical office is preferred, as it indicates an understanding of medical terminology, ICD 10 coding, and the importance of accurate data entry in healthcare settings. Complete knowledge of general computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone operations, as well as proficiency in multiple software programs, including but not limited to bolthires Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet. A full understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance, ensuring the protection of sensitive patient information.Qualified typing skills with a minimum of 40 words per minute, facilitating efficient data entry. Preferred qualifications include experience with medical bills/records, ICD, and CPT codes, which would be highly beneficial in this role.
