Key Responsibilities As a Ticket/Gate Agent at blithequark, your primary focus will be on providing exceptional customer service, ensuring that every customer interaction is positive and memorable. Your key responsibilities will include: Owning the check-in process, boarding process, and seat availability, including making gate announcements and ensuring customers have the accurate travel documentation.Tagging and lifting baggage from scales to conveyor belts, with some bags weighing up to 70 pounds. Operating loading bridges and opening, closing, and securing aircraft doors. Escorting unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers throughout the airport, providing assistance and support as needed. Working collaboratively with other teams to ensure the smooth operation of flights and the delivery of exceptional customer service. Scheduling and Work Environment Scheduling for this role is based on operational needs, with shifts ranging from early morning to overnight.You can expect to work between 20 and 40 hours per week, depending on your seniority and the needs of the airport. As a Ticket/Gate Agent, you will be working in a fast-paced airport environment, where no two days are the same. You will need to be flexible, adaptable, and able to think on your feet, prioritizing the safety and security of yourself, our customers, and our operations at all times. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: A high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.Be at least 18 years of age and have authorization to work in the United States. Proficiency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills using appropriate grammar, tone, and pronunciation. Basic digital literacy and the ability to pass a physical ability test (PAT) and a Customer Service Assessment. The ability to hold airport-specific requirements, such as a SIDA Badge and Customs Seal. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following preferred qualifications will give you a competitive edge in this role: Previous experience in customer-facing roles, particularly in the aviation industry.Knowledge of airport operations and procedures. Ability to speak multiple languages, with a focus on languages commonly spoken by our customers.
