Position at a Glance: Start Date: Immediate openings available Company: Concorde Career Colleges Position: Dental Hygiene Instructor - Substitute Location: Memphis, TN (with options for remote work) Compensation: A competitive salary and benefits package Key Responsibilities: Instructional Duties: Instruct classes as assigned, providing engaging and informative lectures to students Prepare for classes by organizing and becoming familiar with student material, and developing lesson plans and course materials as required Objectively assess students for academic performance, providing regular and constructive feedback Effectively utilize instructional plans, learning management systems, and educational technology to enhance student learning Ensure the security of assessment tools and confidential documentation Student Interaction: Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning, setting a positive example and being a role model for professionalism and conduct Provide regular and constructive feedback to students regarding academic performance, grades, professionalism, conduct, attendance, and other topics as necessary Proactively inform Program Directors of any student attendance, academic, or behavioral concerns Facilitate tutoring and makeup work as needed, ensuring and monitoring student participation Refer students to Program Directors and/or Academic Deans if additional advising is necessary Related Duties: Record keeping, scanning, and other administrative tasks as required Stay informed of current standards related to instructional methodology and participate in ongoing faculty and professional development activities Attend outside workshops and seminars to improve instructional and professional skills Assist with preparations for graduation ceremonies and participate in student and campus activities as requested Maintain classrooms in a neat and orderly fashion, assist in inventory, organization, and ordering of supplies and classroom materials Requirements and Qualifications: Essential Qualifications: Graduate of a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation Associate degree in Dental Hygiene required; Bachelor's degree in any field preferred Possesses a current dental hygiene license Minimum of four years of clinical experience as a hygienist Current CPR card issued by AHA Preferred Qualifications: Prior teaching experience Documented background in educational methodology consistent with teaching assignments Current knowledge of specific subject being taught Evidence of participation in workshops, in-service training, self-study courses, online and credited courses, attendance at regional and national meetings, and scholarly productivity Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to utilize educational technology and learning management systems Commitment to student satisfaction and success Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: As a Dental Hygiene Instructor with Concorde Career Colleges, you will have opportunities for professional growth and development, including: Ongoing faculty and professional development activities Workshops and seminars to improve instructional and professional skills Opportunities for advancement within the institution Competitive salary and benefits package Work Environment and Company Culture: Concorde Career Colleges is committed to creating a positive and supportive work environment that fosters professionalism, respect, and teamwork.
