California Organizing Intern
Join Reproductive Freedom for All as a part-time remote intern focused on grassroots organizing and member recruitment. Your RoleHere’s what you will be doing:• Recruit and retain members at community events, via SMS, phone, and relational organizing• Attend, help plan, and host phone banks, monthly member meetings, tabling, visibility events, and Action Council efforts• Support legislative advocacy by assisting in strategy development and execution for member advocacy around sponsored legislation• Use systems such as VAN, Scale to Win, ControlShift, and Impactive for member recruitment through various outreach tactics• Participate in on-the-ground work for rallies, Action Council meetings, and rapid response effortsAbout YouThe company is looking for:• Previous grassroots organizing experience (professional or volunteer) or demonstrated interest in organizing• Enthusiasm for engaging with people one-on-one or in groups about reproductive rights, both in-person and over the phone• Commitment to advancing reproductive freedom• Ability to connect with diverse communities and people with different lived experiences• Interest in gaining professional experience in politics and organizing• Willingness to work some nights and weekends to attend events• Openness to attending events in-person• Alignment with the organization’s values• Preference for currently enrolled college students located in California• Candidates with historically underrepresented backgrounds in reproductive freedom nonprofits are encouraged to applyCompensation & Benefits• Compensation: $19.18/hour• Part-time hours: 15-30 hours per week with flexible scheduling• Remote position with required attendance at California-based events as neededTraining & Development• Learn key grassroots organizing tactics including volunteer leadership pitching, phonebanking, recruitment, volunteer 1:1 meetings, and lobbying• Gain experience in strategic planning and project management• Develop skills in strategic recruitment using tools like Scale To Win• Enhance public speaking and volunteer training abilities• Deepen knowledge of the reproductive freedom movement and related policies at state and federal levelsThis job may close before the stated closing date, you are encouraged to apply as soon as possibleReport this job Apply tot his job
