About the positionResponsibilities• Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to guide the organization's growth and impact. • Actively engage in financial oversight and fundraising initiatives to ensure the organization's financial health. • Participate in board meetings, discussions, and decision-making to shape organizational policies and strategies. • Serve on committees, leveraging your skills to contribute to specific areas of the organization. • Support fundraising efforts, including giving and/or raising a meaningful financial contribution, leveraging personal connections, and participating in fundraising events and campaigns.• Serve as active advocates and ambassadors for VI and fully engage in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for us to advance our mission. • Identify potential risks and collaborate with the board to develop strategies for risk mitigation. • Work collaboratively with other board members and executive team to assess our performance, measure impact, and enhance our effectiveness in achieving our mission. • Ensure that the Village Institute adheres to all relevant nonprofit laws and regulations, including reporting requirements.• Engage with staff, volunteers, donors, and community members to gain insights that inform decision-making. Requirements• Passion forThe Village Institute's mission and values, especially relating to refugee and immigrant communities. • Relevant expertise or experience in fields such as nonprofit management, fundraising and philanthropy, nonprofit and/or immigration law, etc. • Proven ability to collaborate with a diverse team and embrace various perspectives. • Availability to attend meetings and participate in board-related activities regularly.Apply tot his job
