The Software Engineer will contribute to a team responsible for designing and developing new software and web applications, utilizing various technologies and optimizing database solutions. Responsibilities• Contribute to a team responsible for designing and developing new software and web applications using Go, Python, Terraform, and Ruby;• Build and troubleshoot systems using AWS, Kubernetes, Argo Workflows, and cloud-native technologies;• Design, build, and scale databases using PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redis;• Optimize queries, schema design, and data migration strategies;• Evaluate and implement database solutions using Snowflake;• Design and implement software architectures including microservices, monolithic, and SOA, using design patterns including Domain Driven Design and Test Driven Development;• Support applications under development and customize current applications;• Assist with the software update process for existing applications, and roll-outs of software releases;• Analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications;• Document all development activity;• Research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports;• Monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products;• Review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects;• Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements;• Conduct analysis to determine integration needs;• Work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.Skills• Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field• Two (2) years of experience developing software using Ruby• Building and troubleshooting systems using AWS• Designing, building, and scaling databases using PostgreSQL• Optimizing queries and schema design• Designing and implementing microservices and monolithic software architectures• Using Test Driven Development design patterns• One (1) year includes developing software using Go• Building and troubleshooting systems using Kubernetes• Designing, building, and scaling databases using Redis• Optimizing data migration strategies• Evaluating and implementing database solutions• Designing and implementing SOA architectures• Using Domain Driven Design patternsBenefits• An array of options, expert guidance and always-on tools that are personalized to meet the needs of your reality—to help support you physically, financially and emotionally through the big milestones and in your everyday life.Company Overview• bolthires is a media and technology company that provides broadband internet, mobile services, and entertainment platforms.
