[Remote] Director Professional Education & Training

The Director of Professional Education and Training will lead the strategy, development, and execution of education programs to enhance the use of medical devices, manage a team of professionals, and ensure alignment with marketing and market development strategies. Responsibilities • Partner with Marketing and Sales leadership to create and execute comprehensive education programs that strategically increase confidence in the use and adoption of our medical systems while expanding knowledge of current topics in rapidly evolving markets. • Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Sales, Clinical, Regulatory, and R&D) to align educational initiatives with product launches, business objectives, and clinical outcomes as well as onboarding of new hires and advanced sales training. • Attract, develop and retain a high-performing team while fostering a culture of continuous learning and embodying our CARE values. • Develop strategic programs that address physicians’ needs and align with business objectives. • Oversee the design and delivery of education programs, including in-person training, virtual workshops, e-learning modules, and hands-on simulation labs. • Collaborate with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and subject matter experts to incorporate evidence-based and impactful training content. • Lead the creation of tailored programs for different clinician segments, including interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, and neurosurgeons, fellows and other healthcare professionals. • Lead strategic planning for training program development, program execution, and content creation (study materials, test materials, procedure guides and value propositions for each specialty - and ideally for each procedure), including online education offerings for both new hire and sales training. • Establish KPIs to measure program effectiveness, participant feedback, clinical outcomes, and reach. • Prepare and manage the annual budget for professional education programs, ensuring fiscal responsibility and effective allocation of resources. Monitor expenditures and financial performance, adjusting as necessary to meet program objectives. • Ensure all education programs comply with industry regulations, including AdvaMed Code of Ethics, FDA requirements, and global compliance standards. • Regularly report program performance and insights to executive leadership. Skills • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, life sciences, education, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in professional education, training, or related roles within the medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industries, including at least 3 years of managerial experience leading teams and overseeing large-scale educational programs with demonstrated ROI; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Strong background leading medical, physician, peer-to-peer and sales educational programs. • Strong knowledge of thrombus disease states or 5+ years in the surgical or critical care space with connections to key physicians preferred. • Demonstrated business acumen with a deep understanding of medical device training needs and clinical workflows, along with the ability to develop prioritization frameworks and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to drive strategic value. • A strategic thinker with proven influence across all levels of the organization is required. • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design. • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to thrive on the challenge of developing a best-in-class team, infrastructure, and portfolio of educational offerings that elevate physician engagement, clinical adoption, and patient outcomes. • Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) and virtual training tools. • Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and cross-functional projects effectively. • Proven ability to listen, build trust and respect, and distill key insights into actionable strategies. • Effective leadership and sound judgment in directing strategic initiatives, adapting to change and influencing outcomes across organizational boundaries. • Excellent interpersonal & negotiation skills; ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders while dealing appropriately with sensitive and confidential matters. • Self-motivated and self-directed professional with a proactive approach to managing multiple priorities, navigating ambiguity and driving results in fast-paced environments. • Proficiency in program management, including scoping, resourcing, tracking, and delivering complex initiatives on time and within budget. • Skill in staying current with industry’s best practices and emerging technologies to continuously enhance the effectiveness of education programs. • Willing to travel – 30%. • Advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA, MPH).
