About the position We are hiring an industry experienced sales manager to lead our northeast team of 7 highly skilled Sales and Application Engineers. This role is remote, but individual must live within the northeast region as outlined below with frequent travel to our Uxbridge, MA headquarters. Candidate must have experience directly leading sales professionals in the same or similar industry. Position Snapshot: The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) drives sales growth by leading and developing a high-performing team of Sales Engineers within the assigned territory. This role combines coaching, field engagement, and performance management to support strategic initiatives and customer-centric selling. Key responsibilities include defining KPIs, supporting complex sales opportunities, and aligning regional strategies with Lenze’s market goals. About you: You’re an outgoing, strategic, sales leader with a strong technical background and proven track record in leading high-performing teams in the automation or motion control industry. Responsibilities Team Leadership & Coaching Partner with HR to recruit, onboard, and develop high-performing Sales Engineers focused on market share growth Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to instill urgency and relentlessness in the team Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and customer-centric selling Sales Execution & Field Engagement Actively participate in joint sales calls with Sales Engineers to support complex opportunities and build customer trust Ensure alignment with Lenze’s strategic initiatives and product positioning Performance Management Define and implement KPIs to drive sales growth, including metrics for new customer acquisition, wallet share expansion, and pipeline velocity Monitor team performance against targets and adjust strategies as needed Use CRM tools to track activity, forecast revenue, and report progress to senior leadership Strategic Planning & Market Development Develop regional sales strategies that align with Lenze’s market attack plans and growth objectives Work with Business Development team to identify high-potential OEMs and strategic accounts for targeted engagement Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing, and Business Development to refine go-to-market approaches Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Sales Engineers, Application Engineers, and Inside Sales to deliver complete customer centric solutions Coordinate with industry segment managers to align regional efforts with vertical-specific strategies Support product launches and feedback loops to improve market fit Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required or related experience Minimum 5+ years of experience in technical sales, business development, or regional sales management role within automation, or motion control sectors Minimum of 3+ years management experience, directly leading sales team Proven ability to lead and inspire sales teams toward aggressive growth goals Ability to coach technical sales professionals and translate complex solutions into business value High initiative, adaptability, and strategic thinking Experience setting and managing KPIs, sales forecasts, and territory plans Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills Strong analytical mindset to assess market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning Bold, proactive, and results-driven with a relentless focus on execution Willingness to travel up to 50% within region including overnight stays (headquarters located in Uxbridge, MA) Career development opportunities + years of actual high-performance sales experience with products used in the manufacturing and/or process industries Benefits Blue Cross Blue Shield Medical Insurance – multiple plan options Blue Cross Blue Shield Dental Insurance FSA, HSA options Vision Insurance 401k with company match, fully vested Paid Time Off 10 company paid holidays Company paid disability & AD&D insurance 100% paid parental leave after one year of service Supplemental insurance plans (Identity theft, cyber protection, additional life, etc.) Tuition reimbursement Many of our positions offer flexible schedules to meet your needs Relaxed business casual environment Sit/Stand desks for onsite office positions Frequent team building activities Career development opportunities
