Metadata Project Assistant
About the positionResponsibilities• Assist with providing non-MARC metadata for the RUcore, the Rutgers institutional repository, including electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs). • Assist with providing MARC metadata for monographs. • Assist with scholarly deposits into the Scholarly Open Access Repository (SOAR) as needed. • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. • Two (2) years of relevant experience in an administrative function.• Knowledge of MARC format and resource description conventions. • Familiarity with commonly used resource description tools, including OCLC Connexion and Ex Libris' Alma. • Extreme attention to detail. • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
