Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Netflix is a company focused on entertainment and innovation, seeking a Senior Software Engineer for their XD Design Engineering team. This role involves leading projects to enhance the Design System and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve product design workflows.
Responsibilities
- Contributing, maintaining, and expanding critical design component libraries and capabilities supporting hundreds of internal users (React)
- Implementing AI solutions, when appropriate, that measurably accelerate product design workflows
- Be the engineering lead on projects, working from ideation to implementation to rollout
- Conducting internal user-research to gather insights to inform prioritization and feature development
- Completing medium to large features independently without guidance
- Be the primary point of contact for support requests related to the Design System portfolio
- Work with designers and engineers across other teams to maintain the integrity and reliability of the Design System portfolio
- Participate in on-call rotation to continue to meet our critical SLAs
- Conducting design and code reviews
Skills
- 7+ years of professional experience designing, building, and shipping software
- Experience with single page applications architecture, patterns, and design
- Experience fetching data from GraphQL and REST APIs
- Experience with client-side instrumentation and observability
- Proven ability to lead projects and clearly and effectively communicate with partners
- Strong project scoping and project management skills
- Able to design, architect, debug, test, and create well-documented code
- Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node.js
- You're known for your excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- You have an ownership mentality in all the things you build and are comfortable with identifying opportunities and driving forward-looking technical roadmaps
- You take a thoughtful, practical approach to problem-solving that considers tradeoffs and avoids over-engineering
- You're motivated by the scope and impact to influence decisions that shape the future of design workflows
- You're data driven and lean on both qualitative and quantitative data to drive your decision making
- You have a strong intuition for user experience flows
- Expert at managing web applications with complex state management
- Current/former professional experience working with Figma Plugin
- Bonus if you've contributed to open-source projects
