UPS is a Fortune Global 500 organization seeking a Senior Implementations Engineer to lead customer implementations and large-scale projects within UPS Healthcare. The role involves optimizing operational performance and ensuring seamless integration of systems and processes for healthcare solutions.
Responsibilities
- Drive the end-to-end engineering design and validation for new business and large-scale project implementations using innovative technology and efficient operational workflows
- Lead design and validation of facility layouts and operating plans for ambient, cold chain, and regulated product storage and distribution
- Conduct data analysis, labor modeling, and financial validation to optimize operational efficiency and streamline distribution process
- Lead discussions and calls with internal and external stakeholders to gather critical information, resolve conflicts, and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle
- Perform post-implementation gap analyses with actionable items to drive continuous improvement and performance alignment
- Ensure project success by managing timelines, budgets, risk assessments, and stakeholder communications
- Support team development through mentoring, training, and contributing to process improvement initiatives
- Utilizes knowledge, technology investigation to provide the best return on investment for our clients
- Incorporates healthcare regulatory and industry knowledge when implementing a new solution
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or related field
- Experience in Industrial Engineering design and implementations of large-scale projects and technology deployments
- Strong project management skills and communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Proven knowledge of physical asset design, including the ability to identify issues, recommend specifications, and modify existing layouts to support operational needs
- Proficient in analyzing complex workflows and processes; capable of applying data-driven methods to evaluate people, technology, and information systems
- Hands-on experience with warehouse and fulfillment technologies such as AMR, AGVs, ASRS, goods-to-person automation, conveyance systems, robotic arms, scanners, and put walls
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare logistics and distribution requirements, including cold chain management, controlled substances, and hazardous materials handling
- Familiarity with key financial concepts and calculations used in evaluating operational efficiency and project ROI
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint) & AutoCAD
- Experience with warehouse management system (WMS) design and functionality
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer
- 5+ years' industry experience preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt is a plus
