The University of Rhode Island Foundation is seeking a Salesforce Report Writer/Analyst to partner with staff to understand reporting and business intelligence needs. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining reports and dashboards to support fundraising and operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Foundation stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze reporting and dashboard requirements
- Design, develop, and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Salesforce (Kindsight/Affinaquest), Apsona, Power BI, and related tools
- Translate complex business requirements and data into clear, actionable reporting solutions
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data presented in reports and dashboards
- Develop reporting solutions that effectively address Foundation management questions and business needs
- Provide user support, training, and guidance related to report access, interpretation, and self-service reporting capabilities
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automate data delivery, and enhance business intelligence capabilities
- Assist in establishing reporting standards, documentation, and best practices
- Partner with Advancement Operations staff to support ongoing data governance and reporting initiatives
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience required
- Minimum of three years of experience in reporting, analytics, business intelligence, or related fields
- Experience developing reports and dashboards within Salesforce
- Experience with business intelligence and data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Salesforce Analytics
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to data quality
- Ability to translate technical concepts and data into business-friendly insights
- Proficiency with Apsona for Salesforce
- Experience with DAX, SOQL, JavaScript, SQL, or similar reporting and data analysis tools
- Salesforce Trailhead learning and/or Salesforce certifications
- Experience in higher education, advancement, nonprofit, or fundraising environments
