Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Sweed is a product-driven startup building an all-in-one cannabis retail platform. They are seeking a Frontend Engineer (React) to join their remote team and help scale and optimize their platform, focusing on building integration flows and improving architecture.
Responsibilities
- Participate in product discussions, planning, and technical design
- Build and evolve integration flows between admin and client-facing applications
- Refactor legacy code and improve architecture incrementally
- Review pull/merge requests and mentor where helpful
- Contribute to shared UI/core libraries used across portal and ECOM apps
- Drive the evolution of our public UI component library across client-facing channels
- Use AI tools effectively - write good prompts, build skills/agents/automations, and keep humans in the loop on quality
Skills
- 4+ years of frontend experience in a product company
- Strong TypeScript and React fundamentals
- Comfortable with React Context and async data layers (TanStack Query or similar)
- Good grasp of SSR (Server-Side Rendering) and hydration concepts
- Solid testing habits (unit + E2E)
- Engineering mindset — pragmatic trade-offs, attention to performance, accessibility, and DX
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or equivalents) and a thoughtful approach to where they help vs. where they need oversight
- Experience writing custom agents/skills/MCP integrations
- OpenAPI-driven codegen
- Observability tooling
- Working in a large legacy codebase under refactor
