The Electrical Engineer role involves contributing to the engineering and design of data center facilities while collaborating with multi-discipline teams to produce construction documents and ensure successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide design work
- Contribute to team technical collaboration
- Perform quality reviews of design packages
- Assist directly with other portions of the design process
- Interact directly with the client, owner, and contractors to assist construction on site
- Work closely with the broader multi-discipline team in a fast paced, dynamic, collaborative environment to establish design requirements and produce construction documents
- Engineering and design for data center facility power distribution systems, UPS, emergency systems, grounding, lighting, and low voltage communications systems in complex industrial facilities
- Design may also include retrofit of existing building systems to accommodate our clients’ continually evolving requirements
- Management of quality, scope, budget and schedule
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline
- 1 or more years' experience in engineering design of medium and low voltage distribution systems, building electrical systems, and campus-style power distribution including conveyance
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with industrial facility design
- Working knowledge of Revit or BIM software
- Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) is preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- At least 1 years of data center facility design experience
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
- Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
- Passionate about buildings and construction
- Experience in the design of large projects established on greenfield sites
