We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Fraud Engineering team, Veriff’s frontline defence against online fraud. This team builds the infrastructure and intelligence that power real-time risk decisions and protect our users at scale.
You will grow and lead a high-performing team at the intersection of platform engineering, machine learning, and risk mitigation. Working closely with product, data science, and security, you will ensure Veriff remains fast, trusted, and resilient in the face of evolving threats.
You’ll help us protect honest people online by:
- Leading, growing, and developing a high-performing engineering team working on core fraud infrastructure and decisioning systems.
- Partnering with product, data science, and security stakeholders to define strategy and priorities for fraud prevention.
- Being accountable for delivering robust, scalable systems that balance precision, accuracy, and latency for real-time risk decisions, and supporting the implementation of effective countermeasures against emerging threats.
- Contributing to Veriff’s global fraud risk posture reinforcement.
- Ensuring operational excellence and reliability across the data flows and services your team maintains.
- Nurturing a team culture of accountability, experimentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Supporting career growth, feedback culture, and skill development in alignment with our internal engineering management principles.

- You have prior experience addressing fraud at scale, whether through the development of fraud detection pipelines, the deployment of counter-abuse measures, or by leading teams responsible for fraud prevention systems.
- Familiarity with ML-driven systems and the ability to partner fluently with data scientists and ML engineers.
- Strong system design skills and the judgment to make pragmatic architectural decisions under real-world constraints.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritise under risk, and frame technical investments in terms of business outcomes. You approach complexity with curiosity and tenacity, thrive on uncovering root causes, and seek practical, sustainable solutions to high-impact problems.
- Proven ability to build, scale, retain, and drive strong engineering teams with a clear sense of purpose and identity.
- A mindset geared towards innovation, with experience in implementing new technologies or methodologies to enhance fraud detection capabilities
You’re an especially awesome match if you have:
- Experience with fraud prevention, security platforms, or decision engines in fintech, identity, or similar domains.
- Proficiency in Python is a huge plus
- We expect our new leader to have evolved in cloud platforms ecosystems(AWS/GCP), and services specialised in data processing and ML.
- Hands-on experience with observability, risk modelling, or feedback loop integration.
