We are looking for a seasoned, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Audit Manager to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent, full-time position with the flexibility to work 100% remotely. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the Accounting + Finance industry and is looking to take on a leadership role within a forward-thinking and innovative company.
Responsibilities:
As the Audit Manager, you will be responsible for:
1. Overseeing and executing audit engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, directing, and completing financial audits within the organization.
2. Working closely with clients in the hedge funds, private equity, and investment funds sectors, providing them with top-notch client-facing communication.
3. Conducting risk assessments and internal controls testing, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Prior SOX exposure is considered an asset.
4. Applying in-depth knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, with a special emphasis on IFRS due to its relevance offshore.
5. Managing and leading a team of auditors, providing them with guidance and mentorship.
6. Preparing and reviewing audit documentation, including workpapers, tickmarks, etc.
7. Keeping abreast of latest developments in financial instruments and fair value accounting.
8. Evaluating Level I, II, III investments, and making informed decisions based on these evaluations.
9. Collaborating with other departments to streamline audit processes and improve efficiency.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Audit Manager position should have:
1. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in an auditing role in the Accounting + Finance industry.
2. Proven experience dealing with hedge funds, private equity, and investment funds.
3. A deep understanding of financial instruments and fair value accounting.
4. Extensive experience with Level I, II, III investments.
5. Strong client-facing communication skills.
6. A proven track record in risk assessment and internal controls testing. Prior SOX exposure is a plus.
7. Solid knowledge of GAAP/IFRS. Familiarity with IFRS is especially important due to its relevance offshore.
8. Experience with audit documentation, including workpapers, tickmarks, etc.
9. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. A CPA or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
10. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and guide a team of auditors.
11. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
12. The ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
13. A high level of integrity and professionalism.
14. The ability to work remotely and manage a team virtually.
