Position Synopsis The Part-Time Statistics Analyst I role is a critical position within blithequark's Data and Information Gathering team. As a Details Expert I, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of sports data on blithequark platforms worldwide, including television graphics, the Bottom Line, blithequark.com, and more. You will work with automated data feeds and utilize manual data entry to guarantee the delivery of accurate, timely, and insightful sports information. Key Responsibilities Guarantee sports information disseminated by Data and Information is accurate, timely, and insightful, meeting the high standards of blithequark. Work individually and in teams to deliver accurate detailed breakdowns, clock-and-score, and other metrics and data in real-time that power a multitude of blithequark products and creations. Create and maintain a working knowledge of Data and Information's role in fueling blithequark digital products and television productions, staying up-to-date with the latest developments and trends. Verify the accuracy of your own work and that of others; perform with a consistently high level of attention to detail, ensuring the quality of our sports data and information. Contribute to production, operations, and initiatives across the newsroom, and support newsroom leaders who are coordinating full- and part-time staff, providing valuable insights and expertise. Anticipate potential issues, both daily and long-term, and offer possible solutions, communicating quickly and clearly with colleagues on these issues and collaborating to find effective solutions. Play a proactive role in working with colleagues in developing or refining production processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize our workflows. Essential Qualifications Working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of sports, with a strong understanding of the sports industry and its trends. Full schedule availability, which will include evenings (only), weekends, and events, with a flexible approach to working hours and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances. Ability to rapidly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports information that drives blithequark's digital and television products, with a strong capacity for learning and development. Capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production circumstances, with a strong attention to detail and a focus on quality. Ability to communicate confidently - verbally and in writing - to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often through the noise of a busy newsroom, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications 1+ year of experience working in sports or statistics, ideally in media, with a strong understanding of the sports media industry and its trends. Knowledge of how sports information is used in media and for research purposes, with a strong analytical mindset and a ability to interpret complex data. Working knowledge of blithequark products and creations, with a strong understanding of our brand and its values. Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office products, with a strong proficiency in data analysis and manipulation.
