A Day in the Life of a Health Assistant A typical day as a Health Assistant at blithequark will involve: Supporting members via phone and digital messaging to navigate the healthcare system Making members smarter consumers of healthcare by translating their benefit packages and care plans Helping members find doctors and uncovering barriers that prevent them from getting the care they need Identifying when to connect members with the right clinical resource, such as Clinicians or Health Plan Disease Management Leveraging technology and internal resources to understand the member's path, actions needed, and next stepsKey Responsibilities As a Health Assistant, your key responsibilities will include: Delivering interventions to support members in achieving better health outcomes Driving better client outcomes by assisting with improved financial outcomes, avoiding inappropriate healthcare usage, and optimizing benefit packages Helping members understand and optimize their preventive services, reducing avoidable admissions, ER usage, and readmissions Collaborating with internal resources, such as Clinicians and Health Plan Disease Management, to provide comprehensive support to members Qualifications To be successful as a Health Assistant at blithequark, you will need: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a service-based environment, with a Bachelor's Degree or 5 years of relevant experience preferred Relevant background experience in insurance settings, telephonic customer service, medical offices, Health Plans, social services, behavioral health, counseling, healthcare coordination, pharmacy tech, benefits specialist, health coaching, case management, exercise, and health education High agility and comfort in a high-paced, innovative, technology-driven environment Knowledge of consumer health plans and terminology, as well as an understanding of how patients use and access healthcare Ability to thrive in a performance-based environment, demonstrating high levels of personal accountability and empathy Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to listen, talk, and type simultaneously through multi-channel communications Demonstrated ability to use bolthires Office (Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint) and strong self-management and time management skills Preferred Qualifications While not required, the
