Job Summary We are seeking an Assistant Teacher to support our Lead Teachers in the day-to-day operations of our 3-4 year old classroom. Your role will involve guiding children in their lessons, assisting with snack and lunch preparation and clean-up, and supporting classroom management. Key Responsibilities Assist Lead Teachers in planning and implementing engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students Support children in their learning journey, providing individualized guidance and encouragement as needed Help with snack and lunch preparation and clean-up, promoting healthy eating habits and social skills Assist with classroom management, maintaining a safe, organized, and respectful learning environment Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and events Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should possess the following essential qualifications: A nurturing and kind approach to working with children, with a genuine passion for education and child development Experience working with children, preferably in a preschool or early childhood setting (although not required, as we are willing to train the right individual) Ability to support and encourage each child's educational journey, acting as a caring facilitator to their development and learning Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, families, and children Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to work varied shifts within our operating hours (Monday-Friday, 7:30-5:30) Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Montessori training or experience working in a Montessori-based setting CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of being hired) Completion of online trainings and background check (as required by our school) Knowledge of child development principles, educational theories, and best practices in early childhood education Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and competencies: Communication skills: ability to communicate effectively with children, colleagues, and families, using clear and concise language Interpersonal skills: ability to build strong relationships with children, colleagues, and families, demonstrating empathy, understanding, and respect Organizational skills: ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain a safe and organized learning environment Flexibility and adaptability: ability to adapt to changing circumstances, priorities, and deadlines, demonstrating a flexible and resilient approach to work Teamwork and collaboration: ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, sharing ideas, resources, and expertise to achieve common goals Career Growth and Learning Benefits At Little Tree Education, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our staff.
